The Challenges of Life
The last few weeks have been difficult. I don’t think that as an Autistic individual, we talk about how limited our energy can be at times. Many factors contribute to this: family life, life in general. I can get overwhelmed easily. I have great focus sometimes, but it’s on one thing that is often what my mind chooses vs what I choose, if that makes sense. Recently, with everything going on in the world and dealing with normal family life as a father, I have become overwhelmed. In this state, the energy is sucked out of you. It’s like you are on cruise control; you can do what is needed, but outside of that, there is no energy. Nothing left for creativity or fun. I find myself in this state more than I would like these days. As a content creator, it makes it challenging to produce content during these times. Some of my friends recommended that I use this opportunity to write about. It’s difficult to be open sometimes, but I remind myself that maybe someone else reading this will relate and feel less alone in the world. During these times, I find it helpful to not push myself to do things outside of what has to be done. I will use music to help change my mood and give me a pick-me-up. Songs, rhythm, and instruments can all help. Focus on the song; it’s easy because it is being blasted at your ears! I am getting more energy and look forward to making more content for my social media and also for my blog. It is very important to take time for yourself to recharge; for me, that looks like alone time and headphones, but for you, it could be anything.
